I think I drank some liquid metal

So, it's 9:17 p.m. as I sit here typing this Blog. I got home from work around 510 or so, I talked to Sarah on the phone for a bit, of which I was pretty grumpy. (Sorry Sarah. She is always so sweet and even puts up with me when I am Grumpy, but think that I am not Grumpy... but it just makes it worse on the sleepy denial Grumpy end...) Anyways, I decided I need a nap because I felt like I had been run over by a train. I grabbed my sleeping bag, and Maple's bed too because she said that she wouldn't mind getting a little nappage in as well. It was raining outside and thundering, I turned all the lights off and put on an episode of The Office, the one where Michael tries to prove that the office is dangerous and then almost jumps off the building onto a moon bounce. Yeah. I think I was in the perfect storm situation for naps. I do not take them very often, I have a hard time laying down because I think of all the things I could be doing, did not have that problem today. I slept for about four hours and when I woke up... my mouth tasted like a big cup of metal and my limbs were in slow motion as I tried to itch my foot (damn yellow jackets). I am now going to eat something, probably some coffee cake and then go back to Bed. Every once in a while, I think a night like this is good. very very good. Just give your mind and your body a break, a little appreciation.

Yellow Jackets ate my foot

So, there I was getting excited to play wiffle ball against the Summer Staff ( College Volunteers at camp). I really like wiffle ball, not as much as kickball but I really enjoy a good ol' game. I was waiting for things to start and standing like a little kid with your feet rocked to the side. This however left a little bit of room between the bottom of my foot and the sandals I was wearing. Just enough room for say... three yellow jackets to fly into the little cave I had created. Well about the time that I realized that something didn't belong was in my sandal, the first one stung me and as I reached down to grab my foot the other two went in for the kill. Well I reached in with my fingers and grabbed the little bastard and pulled his abdomen away from his head. That el' show em. At this point my foot was throbbing in pain and I didn't get to play wiffle ball. I still had about 6 hours left to work, so I hobbled around for a while as my foot swelled to fill in where I had loosened the sandal. After a while of heart beat in my foot, I decided it was time to take Benadryl (sp*). The bad part about that is... it knocks me out and pretty much makes me loopy and very very slooowwww. I took it with two hours left on the clock. With about thirty minutes to go, I was fighting to stay awake but my foot felt better. I only by the grace of God made it home to fall into my bed and asleep to over sleep the next morning and not hear my alarm. (thankfully my boss is very nice and understands yellow jackets stings and they suck)

One more thing for Today

So as I have been sitting here writing the other post and checking email etc., my dog Maple has been asleep on here bed in my bedroom next to my bed out of site. I hear a rustle and she comes walking out stops five feet from me and looks at me and sits down. She stares at me for five minutes and then lays down with a big ol' sigh... Two minutes after that she walks past me to go into the extra bedroom where her kennel is and this is what unfolds. I wonder what is on her mind right now. I could not resist posting this today, because it is funny looking. She was like this for a while.

Greener Brad= Less Debt Brad

So I sold my motorcycle today. A school teacher from Athens, Ga came this morning and picked it up from me. It was sad to see her go... all 250cc of her, but it is a good thing. But let me give you a little back story on where this idea was born. So a few weeks ago my brother and I were talking and he shared with me about motorized bicycles and that he was thinking about building one. That is where the bug was planted. Since then I have been looking into it... 130 MPG... which is nice and no insurance etc. But as for now, while I save up for the motor, I am going to be riding my bicycle to work 10 miles each way when I work during the day. If I have the night shift, I have given myself the truck for the night so I do not have to ride at night on a road bike. It will be interesting, seeing that I live in the mountains and they are freaking huge and hilly. I road to work today to grab the truck for tonight and I was doing great until the driveway of the camp I work at. It is pretty much the hill from HELL. Half way up, I was toast and had to walk the bike for about five minutes. But it was good to be reminded that my gas mileage is free.

P.S. Joe (Neighbor) if you are reading this, I would like to give a credit in the picture because that is his bike pump and water bottle, which I have borrowed :) now for a while.

The Praying Mantis

So I have a Praying Mantis that decided to live outside our door for a day or so. Just for the record, I did him/her no harm. (I think they are protected or something like that) Anyways, every time I would come in or out of the apartment, he would look at me and turn his head sideways. One time I went in, I stopped and has a staring contest with it for about a minute and just looked at em. That is one weird looking bug. I lost, but then felt better because I know that my spouse won't eat me after "sexy time" which Praying Manitises* do. So I guess that in the end I win.

The Challenge

Okay, so here is the deal. I was inspired and challenged by a friend of mine. He did something he calls a POD (picture of the day) for one year. He took one picture everyday for a year and posted it onto flickr and watched what happened. I have been thinking along those lines in the past month. I thought about what would happen or what I would say, if I "blogged" something everyday or so. What thoughts would I type, what would in this world would stick out to me to write about. So with that said, I am going to take the challenge of a blog at least five out of seven days a week for a year and see what comes of it. I may be able to blog for the complete seven days a week but then again five might be good enough for my brain. I am curious to see what happens with my thoughts and observations of the world around me. So... here we go.
