My way or the Highway???
I was talking to some friends today and it occurred to me that conversation can do one of two things, make you closer or push you away. This lead me think about how people share their point of view with others. Most of the time people tend to air on the side of passionate persuasion of what they hold to be "right" or whatever that means. When some one is sharing their side of the story or idea or virtue it can easily be done in vain as far as the other party is concern especially if the person only has a mouth and lacks ears. I think when people tend to get worked up over something they believe and try to cram it down your throat it tends to turn people off. Whether this is politics, religion or the best way to do something, directions, raise kids, make a fire what ever. When some seeks to share first and listen maybe, I think they are speaking like a charlie brown adult. This includes when someone is talking to another who does not agree with them or hold the same values and gets all worked up and upset because they can not see their point of view and in turn will most of the time end up telling the other person in some way shape or form they are wrong without listening first, or listen and jump right in at the first chance to contradict what they are hearing. When we listen first and share second, ideas are shared and ideas are built. This is how people come together and learn. People will never listen if you don't care. I think this is something that I have been learning lately with myself and just by watching the world around me. Just turn on the television or watch people at work, go to the mall. Its everywhere, people who forgot how to listen.
I have to pee
I have been sitting here again with a blank mind wondering about what to write about. All this time, I really have to pee. It kind of makes me laugh about all that you can go through when you have to pee really badly. If you have to pee really really badly, you don't want to get up because you have the "pee belly" of which almost puts you in an e mobile state. So what do you do to solve this problem... the pee walk. As you are reading this, I know you know what I am talking about. Each person has their own version of the pee walk that is custom fit to their size and shape and intensity of the pee they are facing. Some people hunch over a little, while others use speed to help their situation. Then, there are those who hunch with speed. But the two together tend to cancel each other out. While the speed has hindered the hunch, the hunch is hindered by the speed, all along making you have to pee all the more, and that is not the only thing you have to work against. The dreadful "i know you have to pee mentality" that your body knows some how. You try to trick your body into thinking you have plenty of time and will power, but... it knows that you are getting closer to the toilet and it is raring to go. This also adds a pep to your step, with the hunch and the speed now all colliding at the finish line. As you get ready to go with each move, you have to be very precise, because time is very precious and valuable at this point. One false move and you could have some oopsy moments. So, I have to go now, because while I have sitting here writing this blog, it has been a diversion to trick my body, because I really have to pee, so I am going to try to sneak to the bathroom unnoticed using the hunch sidestep method.
